When shoe designer Sarah Flint married her fiancé Sean Beresini in a small ceremony on her family's estate in Massachusetts in November, she walked down the aisle wearing—what else?—a gorgeous pair of heels. Flint, whose accessories brand is beloved by famous fans like Meghan Markle, Gayle King, Lady Gaga, Amal Clooney, and many others, had originally planned to create a one-of-a-kind pair of pumps for her wedding, but once she saw the shoe, she decided to manufacture it as a limited-edition style.

“I wanted to design something very romantic with vintage-inspired touches. After many rounds of sketches, I decided on a D’Orsay heel in white satin, with polka-dot mesh topped with handmade leather flowers. The funny thing is that we were only supposed to make one pair just for my wedding, but when we got the prototype in office, we were all too excited and decided to release it as a limited-edition style,” she tells Town & Country.

And in addition to details like a garland of handcrafted flowers and a pastel lining (a hidden "something blue"), comfort was key to the design.

“Of course I wanted the shoe to look beautiful, but it also had to be comfortable. That was non-negotiable,” she says. “I included features like arch support and extra padding—which you can find in a lot of our shoes—and I added a low block heel which is very easy to walk in, especially outdoors. To that end, I also made sure the satin was water-resistant so the shoes wouldn’t get easily stained or soaked. I was really trying to think about what I wanted aesthetically, but also about what made sense when I’d be on my feet for hours!”
